$1,500.00
Small framed painting by American born modernist painter Jozef Bakos, 1891-1977. Bakos founded Los Cinco Pintores, a group of early modern experimental landscape painters who lived and worked around Santa Fe, New Mexico and all over the Southwest in the 1940s, painting the landscape and Native life on the reservations nearby. This piece depicts three structures, either hogans or wikiups (portable structures) made by the Navajo people, one of three bands that live in New Mexico. Bakos was inspired by Cezanne and has a similar impressionist style but is more modern. Piece measures 8.5"H x 14.5" in it's custom frame and has surface spatter marks that can be removed.
